It's after school on Thursday and I have a sore throat. I've sung countless renditions of 1,2,3,4,5, Once I caught a fish alive...and I am in need of a shower. Instead I'm waiting for my four year old student for a private tuition session. I am armed with pens and sheets, but I think even my most basic English will fail me. Luckily the hour passes and she's yet to show. I selfishly and inwardly cheer. P'Om arrives seconds later, pulling me into the car so we can shop for tonight's dinner. Pork and cabbage soup. Which is far more exotic and delicious than it sounds. One of the many advantages of a home-stay is the constant flow of new foods and this certainly didn't disappoint. Forget Jamie's thirty minute meals, this literally took fifteen minutes and is deliciously healthy. I've tried to write down the recipe as best I could below to jog my memory when I get home, any suggestions/adjustments welcome.
